Synopsys Top Executives Experience Billion-Won Equity Changes Due to RSU Vesting

On February 16 and March 15, restricted stock units (RSUs) held by Synopsys Inc. (NASDAQ: SNPS) Chief Legal Officer Janet Lee, Board Chairman Aart de Geus, and President & CEO Sassine Ghazi vested and converted into common shares. To satisfy the required tax withholding, each executive surrendered a portion of their newly vested shares back to the company. During the vesting of 2,873 RSUs, Janet Lee returned 921 shares—worth approximately $400,000—for tax purposes, increasing her direct holdings of common stock to 14,832 shares, valued at roughly $6.5 million. On March 15, both de Geus and Ghazi similarly transferred several hundred shares to cover their tax obligations. Following these transactions, de Geus’s combined direct and indirect stake exceeds 400,000 shares, while Ghazi’s direct holdings stand at 75,020 shares.

At its flagship event, “Synopsys Converge 2026,” held on March 11, CEO Sassine Ghazi outlined an AI-driven design vision spanning silicon to system and unveiled a new EDA solution that integrates Ansys’s recently acquired multiphysics engine. Earlier, on February 25, Synopsys reported first-quarter fiscal 2026 revenue of $2.4 billion and non-GAAP earnings per share of $3.77, and announced a new $2 billion share-repurchase program to capitalize on growing demand for AI and simulation.
