Applied Optoelectronics Surges 7% in a Day, Market Cap Increases to 1.4 Trillion Won

Applied Optoelectronics Inc. (AAOI) closed at $163.79, up 7.17% on the day.
In a single session, its market capitalization swelled by about $1 billion (approximately KRW 1.4 trillion), bringing the total to roughly $12.9 billion (around KRW 18 trillion).

The previous day, the company secured a $20 million subsidy (about KRW 3 trillion) from the Texas Semiconductor Innovation Fund to expand its Sugar Land facility, gaining policy support to boost production capacity.

This month, it further underscored its aggressive capital-investment stance by contracting to acquire a large real estate asset in Texas valued at roughly $58 million (about KRW 800 billion).

Founded in 1997, Applied Optoelectronics is a U.S. optoelectronic components semiconductor company that supplies optical transceivers and lasers to data centers and cable-TV operators.

The company reports that strong demand for its 800G and 1.6T high-speed optical modules drove record revenues in 2025, and it is rapidly expanding production facilities in Texas and Taiwan with a goal of exceeding $1 billion in revenue for 2026.
