Wi-Fi 7 Stadium Momentum... Extreme Networks Surges Over 6%
Shares of U.S. network equipment provider Extreme Networks (EXTR) jumped 6.53% intraday to close at $25.46, lifting its market capitalization by roughly $230 million (about KRW 300 billion) in a single day. Its total market value now stands at approximately $3.3 billion, or around KRW 4.5 trillion.
In early May, the company announced it had deployed the first Wi-Fi 7 network in a U.S. college stadium at the University of Florida’s “The Swamp,” underscoring its growth story centered on large-scale stadium projects and an NFL partnership. In its fiscal 2026 third quarter, released April 29, Extreme Networks reported revenue of $316.87 million—an 11% increase year-over-year—and earnings per share of $0.26, slightly beating market expectations. These results reflect the impact of its investments in AI-driven networking and Wi-Fi 7.
Founded in 1996 and based in Morrisville, North Carolina, Extreme Networks designs wired and wireless network infrastructure and cloud-based management software for enterprise campuses, data centers, and large stadiums. Analysts say the company is using its AI-powered network automation platform and Wi-Fi 7 product lineup to expand market share against larger rivals such as Cisco, and they view this technological momentum as a key factor behind this week’s stock surge.
