Upward Revisions in Performance and Guidance… Confidence of AI Semiconductor Design Tool Leader
US electronic design automation (EDA) software provider Synopsys, Inc. (SNPS) reported second‐quarter fiscal 2026 revenue of $2.276 billion (approximately KRW 3 trillion), up from $1.604 billion (about KRW 2 trillion) in the year‐ago quarter. The company delivered GAAP diluted EPS of $0.09 and non-GAAP diluted EPS of $3.35, both exceeding prior guidance.

Reflecting the accounting impact of its Ansys channel integration and the planned divestiture of its Processor IP Solutions business, Synopsys raised its full-year revenue guidance to a midpoint of $9.665 billion (roughly KRW 13 trillion) and its non-GAAP EPS guidance to $14.76. It also plans to host an investor event on September 30 to outline its long-term financial objectives and strategy. On May 16, about $159,000 of restricted stock awards vested for General Counsel Janet Lee and were net-settled for tax withholding—approximately KRW 200 million—in accordance with standard executive compensation procedures.
Building on the roughly $35 billion (KRW 45 trillion) acquisition of Ansys, Synopsys introduced Ansys 2026 R1 in March, integrating multiphysics simulation with artificial intelligence capabilities to accelerate portfolio expansion from chip design to system-level engineering software. The reported quarterly results and the upwardly revised full-year guidance assume continued progress in integration efforts, cost synergies and efficiency gains.
Headquartered in California, Synopsys is a global leader in EDA and semiconductor IP, supplying design tools and simulation software to chipmakers and systems companies worldwide. Post-Ansys acquisition, the company is evolving into a “silicon-to-systems” software provider—encompassing multiphysics analysis and digital twin technologies—to capture growing design demand driven by AI semiconductors and high-performance computing.
