AI Data Center Beneficiaries Plummet... Approximately $10 Billion Vanished in a Day
Bloom Energy Corp. (NYSE: BE) saw its shares fall 10.5% to close at $260.89, cutting its market capitalization by about $7 billion (roughly KRW 10 trillion). Trading volume reached approximately 6.04 million shares—well above average—as fellow fuel-cell names FuelCell Energy and Plug Power also slid, deepening the sector-wide pullback.
Bloom Energy had recently surged after signing an AI data-center power infrastructure deal with Oracle to expand its solid oxide fuel-cell capacity by up to 2.8 gigawatts. However, late-May filings showing board member John Chambers sold around $16 million worth of shares rattled near-term investor sentiment.
Headquartered in California, Bloom Energy develops solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) and has grown by selling on-site power systems to large users such as data centers and semiconductor fabs.
