North American Electrical Component Company Completes $3 Billion NSI Acquisition
Hubbell Inc. (NYSE: HUBB) has completed the acquisition of NSI Industries, a North American manufacturer of electrical fittings, connectors, and wire management products, for approximately $3 billion (about KRW 4 trillion). The purchase was funded with roughly $900 million in unsecured loans, $1.9 billion in senior notes, and commercial paper.
Through this transaction, Hubbell has integrated NSI’s electrical fittings, connectors, and timer product lines—supported by more than 2,000 distribution partners—significantly expanding its North American electrical products portfolio and distribution network.
NSI is headquartered in Huntersville, North Carolina, while Hubbell’s headquarters are in Shelton, Connecticut. Hubbell’s most recent annual revenue was in the high $5 billion range (around KRW 7.5 trillion).
In early June, the company completed a $1.9 billion senior note offering to finance the NSI acquisition and repay existing borrowings. At the end of May, its board declared a regular quarterly dividend of $1.42 per share.
Founded in 1888, Hubbell is a U.S.-based manufacturer of electrical and utility solutions, supplying power transmission and distribution components as well as commercial and industrial electrical products to domestic and international markets. As its primary customers include North American utilities and non-residential construction firms, Hubbell’s performance is sensitive to shifts in industry demand driven by power grid investments and expanding infrastructure projects.
