AI Semiconductor Design Software Leader Sells Stocks Worth Hundreds of Millions Amid Upward Earnings Revision

Synopsys, Inc. (SNPS) posted second-quarter fiscal 2026 revenue of $2.276 billion (approximately KRW 3.2 trillion), delivering robust year-over-year growth. The company reported GAAP earnings per share of $0.09 and non-GAAP earnings per share of $3.35, both exceeding prior guidance.

Despite accounting impacts related to the Ansys channel and the wind-down of its processor IP solutions business, Synopsys cited strong operating momentum and disciplined cost controls in raising its full-year fiscal 2026 revenue guidance midpoint to roughly $9.6 billion (KRW 13.5 trillion) and its non-GAAP EPS outlook to $14.76. The company also announced an Investor Day on September 30 to outline its long-term strategy and financial goals.

Under pre-established Rule 10b5-1 trading plans, the CFO sold approximately $1.5 million worth of shares and the CEO sold about $6.7 million. Filings show that both executives continue to hold substantial direct and indirect equity stakes in the company.

Since completing its approximately $35 billion (KRW 49 trillion) acquisition of Ansys last July, Synopsys introduced in March the integrated “Ansys 2026 R1” solution, combining technologies from both companies to expand its multiphysics simulation and EDA product lineup.

Headquartered in Silicon Valley, Synopsys is a leading provider of electronic design automation (EDA), semiconductor IP, and security software, ranking among the top global EDA vendors alongside Cadence and Siemens EDA.

With rising demand for AI semiconductors, high-performance computing, and automotive chips driving up design complexity, the need for design and verification software and simulation tools is growing. Synopsys is building a “silicon-to-systems” platform that spans from chip design through system-level simulation.
