Datadog CTO Sells Millions in Shares While Retaining Approximately $17 Billion

According to SEC filings on May 18 and June 1–2, Datadog, Inc. (NASDAQ: DDOG) CTO Alexis Le-Quoc converted Class B common shares into Class A shares and, under a Rule 10b5-1 trading plan, sold some of the Class A shares, generating roughly $9.1 million (about KRW 120 billion) in proceeds.

The same filings show that Le-Quoc sold an additional ~80,000 shares to cover taxes on RSU and performance RSU vesting, and that another insider, Matthew Jacobson, disposed of equity valued at approximately $10 million (around KRW 130 billion) through a trust.

However, the filings note that Le-Quoc still holds about 6.7 million shares—directly and via a family trust—worth roughly $1.4 billion (approximately KRW 2 trillion) at current market prices.

In its May 7 release of fiscal 2026 first-quarter results, Datadog reported revenue of $1.01 billion and adjusted earnings per share of $0.60, beating analysts’ estimates and raising its full-year 2026 revenue and earnings guidance.

At the June 15 annual shareholder meeting, proposals on board elections, executive compensation and auditor appointment received strong shareholder support. Coinciding with this, Datadog unveiled AI-based observability and automated incident response features—such as Bits AI—at its developer conference DASH 2026, underscoring its AI-centric cloud observability platform strategy.

Headquartered in New York, Datadog provides a SaaS-based platform for cloud application observability, monitoring and analyzing servers, databases, application logs and security events in a unified interface.

As of the first quarter of 2026, the company’s annualized revenue run rate was about $3.67 billion, representing roughly 30% year-over-year growth. Driven by expanding sales of its AI observability and security modules among large customers, Datadog is regarded as a bellwether growth stock for cloud and AI infrastructure demand.
