U.S. Autonomous Systems Company Acquires Drone-Based Infrastructure Inspection Software
Ondas Inc. (ONDS) has agreed to acquire critical infrastructure UAS inspection and visualization software provider Cyberhawk in a primarily cash transaction valued at approximately $125 million. About 95% of the purchase price will be paid in cash, with the remainder issued as Ondas shares subject to a one-year lock-up for Cyberhawk’s management. The combined companies intend to expand their footprint in critical infrastructure inspection—particularly power grids and energy—and the broader industrial autonomous systems market. In related insider activity, independent director Randy Seidl sold 10,000 common shares on the open market in May for roughly $98,000, and in June, CFO Neil J. Laird was granted equity-based compensation equivalent to 500,000 shares.
On June 16 at Eurosatory 2026 in France, Ondas unveiled new autonomous defense systems and an integrated “systems of systems” portfolio, further broadening its defense and security offerings. The company also reported securing over $30 million in new orders across its defense, security, and autonomy technology platforms during May alone, pushing its second-quarter-to-date order intake past $110 million and sustaining strong order momentum.
Based in the U.S., Ondas delivers data-collection and surveillance services to critical infrastructure clients in rail, power and energy, public safety, and government and defense sectors. Its solutions combine autonomous drones, ground robots, and private wireless networks. With rising demand for autonomous defense platforms and inspection drones, the defense and security and industrial autonomous systems markets are emerging as attractive mid-to-long-term growth opportunities.
