Director of Major U.S. Pharmaceutical Distributor Acquires Company Shares Worth Hundreds of Millions, Anticipates Executive Restructuring

D. Mark Duncan, a director at U.S. pharmaceutical distribution and healthcare services company Cencora, Inc. (NYSE: COR), on May 28 and June 18 purchased 4,000 shares of the company’s common stock in each open-market transaction, investing roughly $2.2 million (about ₩3 billion) of his personal funds. Following these trades, his direct holdings rose to approximately 31,000 shares, with a post-transaction value estimated at around $8.6 million (about ₩13 billion).

Meanwhile, Silvana Battaglia, who has served as senior vice president of human resources for seven years, will retire effective July 13 and transition into a special advisory role through year-end. On the same date, Samantha Haemok—formerly head of HR organizations at Verizon and American Express—will assume the position of senior vice president of human resources.

In early May, the company released its fiscal 2026 second-quarter results and revised its full-year guidance. In March, it announced an agreement to acquire the retina division of ophthalmology network I-Sous Partners for about $1.1 billion (roughly ₩1.7 trillion). In June, Cencora has faced ongoing disputes with insurers over applicable laws in opioid-related litigation.

Cencora, Inc., formerly known as AmerisourceBergen, was formed in 2001 through the merger of AmeriSource and Bergen Brunswig. Today, it trades on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker COR. The company supplies pharmaceuticals and related services to hospitals, pharmacies and drug manufacturers worldwide, and in recent years has expanded into Europe and specialized care through acquisitions such as Alliance Healthcare and a dedicated retina network.
