View on SEC EDGARPIMCO Corporate Income Opportunity Fund amended its prospectus and SAI to broaden loan investing and origination authority (including subprime and distressed credits and foreign loans), restate credit quality limits, expand loan-related risk disclosures, and clarify that the Fund bears origination and related expenses.
PIMCO Corporate Income Opportunity Fund filed a supplement dated June 24, 2026 to its Prospectus and Statement of Additional Information to significantly expand and clarify its ability to invest in and originate a broad range of loans (including residential and commercial real estate, consumer, corporate, bridge, mezzanine, senior and subordinated loans, both U.S. and foreign), to permit lending to borrowers without specific credit criteria and potentially subprime or distressed, and to restate its credit quality policy capping non-mortgage/ABS CCC/Caa1-or-lower exposures at 20% of total assets while allowing unlimited investment in mortgage-related and other asset-backed securities regardless of rating. The supplement adds detailed descriptions of new and revised principal risks around loans, loan participations and assignments, loan origination (including foreign loan origination), liquidity, legal and regulatory exposure, servicing and collateral risks, and DIP and bridge financings, and it clarifies that the Fund may make such investments directly or through wholly owned subsidiaries. It also amends the Investment Management Agreement disclosure to specify that the Fund, and not PIMCO, will bear costs associated with originating specialized loans (including legal, diligence and broken-deal expenses) and revises the SAI to conform credit quality and loan-related policy language with the new strategy and risk disclosures.
