On August 18, 2026, Consumer Portfolio Services, Inc. announced that it closed an $80.0 million private securitization of residual interests from previously issued securitizations, in which a qualified institutional buyer purchased 10.25% coupon asset-backed notes secured by residual interests in seven CPS securitizations (four directly and three through an 80% interest in a majority-owned affiliate), with part of the proceeds used to fully repay a higher coupon residual interest financing completed in March 2024, effectively refinancing that prior transaction and re-pledging the associated residual interests as collateral for the new notes.
