Vaalco Energy reported strong initial production from its new Etame 14H well in Gabon, progress on further Gabon drilling, and confirmed that restart of the Baobab field in Côte d’Ivoire remains on schedule for Q2 2026 following the return of its refurbished FPSO.

On April 21, 2026, Vaalco Energy, Inc. announced a positive operational update, reporting that it successfully drilled, completed and brought on production the Etame 14H development well in the Main Fault Block of the Etame field offshore Gabon, which encountered 325 meters of net pay in high-quality Gamba sands and achieved initial production of approximately 4,850 gross BOPD (2,850 BOPD net to Vaalco), while also mobilizing the rig to the Ebouri platform to commence drilling the EEBOM-5H development well and planning additional workovers, and confirming that the refurbished Baobab Ivorien FPSO has returned to its location offshore Côte d’Ivoire with riser and umbilical reconnection underway, keeping restart of Baobab field production on track for Q2 2026.
