Septerna, Inc. announced that it has appointed Rajiv Patni, M.D., an experienced physician-scientist and biopharmaceutical executive with more than 25 years of industry experience, as its Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Patni, who most recently served as Chief Executive Officer of Judo Bio and previously held senior R&D and CMO roles at multiple biopharmaceutical companies including Reata Pharmaceuticals, Global Blood Therapeutics, Portola Pharmaceuticals, Adamas Pharmaceuticals, and Actelion Pharmaceuticals, will lead Septerna’s clinical development efforts as the company advances its pipeline of oral small molecule drug candidates targeting GPCRs in areas such as endocrinology, immunology, inflammation, and metabolic diseases. The company’s CEO, Jeffrey Finer, M.D., Ph.D., highlighted Dr. Patni’s track record of guiding investigational medicines from early clinical studies through regulatory approvals as a key asset for building a world-class development organization and progressing Septerna’s clinical programs.
