On 2026-07-29, AbCellera Biologics Inc. announced that it entered into a collaboration and license agreement with Vertex Pharmaceuticals Incorporated under which AbCellera will use its proprietary multispecific T-cell engager (TCE) platform to lead discovery and early development of multispecific T-cell engagers for autoimmune diseases and other conditions, while Vertex will fund all research and development, hold rights to further develop and commercialize any resulting therapeutic antibodies, and pay AbCellera $28 million in total upfront payments plus potential preclinical, development, regulatory, and commercial milestone payments, tiered royalties on net sales, and optionally additional fees for cell line development, process development, and clinical manufacturing through Phase 1.
